In theory, this sounds good, right? “Brand your business for only $97 a month!”
Just starting out I felt as though this could be a good way to help and gain customers. I did this for a few months, but here’s what I found.
I was either
A. Spending too much time on what I was being paid.
B. Not spending enough time to really help market that brand.
Just starting out with my business, in theory, this sounded like a great idea. However, I struggled with myself between spending the right about of time to make sure the job was done correctly and yet not over working for what I was being paid. (Have to go through growing spurts right?)
Do you want new customers? Do you want to have a big brand that isn’t struggling to find customers? Hire a marketer. There’s a catch though. Don’t just hire any marketer who knows how to sell TO you but not your brand. If a marketer isn’t 100% interested in learning about you, your brand, your processes all of it, my personal opinion they will do a crappy job at selling your brand. You can’t hire a marketer who hasn’t or doesn’t have the time to invest in what you do and why you do it.
Customers time and time again have shown that they will spend money on and with people and brands that they relate to and trust! A social media marketer must tell your story with finesse as people use social to share about themselves. You cannot make it all about you. Find a way to share how your product, service will better the lives of the individuals you’re selling to. Don’t be too “sales-y” and definitely don’t ask for a sale everytime you post.
If you find that you don’t have the time or energy to put that effort into your brand, connect with a professional Social Media Marketer to help you get to where you need!
